Jeremy Ten
– has been skating since age 9 and is the 2007 Canadian Junior Men’s Champion
and the 2009 Senior Men’s Bronze Medalist.
Debi Thomas
– is the 1986 US and World Champion, the 1988 U.S. Champion and Olympic
Bronze Medalist, competing against Katarina Witt in the “Battle of the
Carmens.” Debi was selected
to be in the U.S. Delegation for Opening Ceremonies at the 2006
Olympics. She was inducted
into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2000.
Debi has a degree in engineering from Stanford University and is
pursuing a career as an orthopedic surgeon.
Lianna Thomas
– was born in China and adopted by a U.S. family.
She competes at the Novice level and is coached by Peter Burrows.
She has appeared in “Stars, Stripes and Skates,” and played a
young Kyoko Ina in a holiday television special.
She was featured in a documentary, “A Gift of Adoption.”
Lianna organized Ice Pandas, a skating program for young children
adopted from China, and also leads a library reading group for
youngsters.
Laurent Tobel
– is the 1999 French Champion.
After an extensive eligible career, he is now a professional
skater and is producing ice shows internationally.
Rosanna “Rosie”
Tovi
– is a former Eastern Sectional Champion and Nationals competitor.
She skated pairs professionally with Andrei Bannikov and has
toured world-wide. She
coaches in New Jersey and has an ice show production company, Skate FX.
Rosie created the Science of Training off-ice training program
and has produced instructional DVDs and videos.
She also produces and sells a line of skating costumes known as
RosieWear.
Nathan
Truesdell
– is a U.S. Medalist and the highest placing African-American Ice Dancer
in U.S. Championship history.
He is currently training in North Carolina.
Michael
Tyllesen
- is a six-time Danish Champion and twice Scandinavian Champion.
He is a former Junior Worlds Competitor, European Competitor,
World Competitor and a 1994 Olympian. He placed 9th at the
1998 Olympics. Michael is the 1998 Skate Canada Bronze Medalist and has
been a principal skater for Holiday on Ice since 2000.
Calla Urbanski
Petka
– and pairs partner Rocky Marval were known as “the waitress and the
truck driver” because of the jobs they held to support their skating
career. They are the 1991
Skate America Pairs Champions and 1992 and 1993 U.S. National Pairs
Champions. They finished in
the top ten at the 1992 Olympics.
Calla and Rocky skated and competed professionally and Calla is
currently coaching in Delaware.
Amy Vecchio
– is a former Disney on Ice skater.
She is a national coach and choreographer.
Amy directs the North Shore Skating Club’s Annual Ice Spectacular
and is Assistant Choreographer for Imagica Theatre on Ice for the
Skating Club of Boston.
Brittany Vise
– has competed in both singles and pairs.
With Nicholas Kole, she won five medals in the Junior Grand Prix,
including silver in 2005.
Tiffany Vise
-
and Derek Trent became the first pair to land a throw quadruple salchow
in international competition in 2007.
With Larry Ibarra, she won the 2002 U.S. Junior bronze medal and
placed 6th at the Junior World Championships.
She also competes in singles.
Sydne Vogel
– has won U.S. Pacific Coast Sectionals at the novice, junior and senior
levels. She is the 1995
U.S. Junior Champion and 1997 World Junior Champion.
She has also competed for Germany.
Sydne is studying to become an orthopedic surgeon.
Ashley Wagner
– was born on a U.S. Army base in Heidelberg, Germany.
She is the 2007 and 2009 Junior World Bronze Medalist.
She is the 2008 Senior U.S. Bronze Medalist and competed at the
World Championships.
Barbara Wagner
– and partner Robert Paul are five-time Canadian Pair Champions.
They are 1957 and 1959 North American Champions, four-time World
Champions and the 1960 Olympic Champions.
Barbara is currently coaching in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
Robert Wagner
– is the U.S. Figure Skating Eastern Sectional Vice Chair.
Rosalind Walker
– is
a former British competitive figure skater and ice dancer.
She took part in Ted Wilson’s Ice Parade shows at the Hyatt
Regency Hotel in Dubai in 1980 and 1981.
She coached in Great Britain for several years and is currently
coaching in Dubai.
Jill Watson
– is the 1983 and 1984 U.S. Pair Bronze Medalist with Burt Lancon.
Jill skated with Peter Oppegard to become a three-time U.S. Pairs
Champion. She and Peter
were Bronze Medalists at both the 1988 Olympics and World Championships.
They were inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in
2004. Jill is currently
coaching in Arizona.
Kaitlyn Weaver
& Andrew Poje
– won bronze medals in 2007 at both the Canadian Championships and the
World Junior Championships.
They are 2008 Canadian Silver medalists, 2008 World Junior Bronze
Medalists and 2009 Canadian Bronze Medalists.
Kaitlyn was born in the U.S. and became a Canadian citizen in
2009.
Lindsey Weber
- is
the 2001 U.S. Junior Bronze Medalist and 2007 U.S. Collegiate Silver
Medalist. She has been a
senior national and international competitor and serves as the Singles
Vice Chair for the U.S. Figure Skating Athletes Advisory Committee.
Audrey Weisiger
– is a U.S. Bronze Medalist at both the novice and junior levels.
She is a U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalist in figures and
freestyle. Audrey has
coached numerous champions, including Michael Weiss.
She has twice been a U.S. Olympic Team Coach and was named PSA
and USFSA Coach of the Year in 1999.
She holds a PSA World Coach rating and a Master Rating in Figures
and Freestyle.
Jennifer Wester
& Daniil Barantsev
– have had three top-ten finishes at the U.S. Ice Dance Championships.
They are the 2008 Nebelhorn Trophy Champions.
Daniil is originally from Russia and is a former World Junior Ice
Dance Champion. They
married in 2006.
Lorna Wighton
Aldridge & John Dowding
– are three-time Canadian Ice Dance Champions.
They had four top-ten finishes at World Championships and
competed in the 1980 Olympics.
Christie
Williams
– is a member of Glens Falls Figure Skating Club.
She has passed her Novice Moves and Pre-Juvenile Freeskating
Tests. She has competed in
Northeastern U.S. and helps out with the club’s Basic Skills Classes on
a regular basis.
Atoy Wilson
– was the first African-American man to become U.S. Novice Champion,
which he achieved in 1966.
Atoy toured with Ice Follies and Holiday on Ice until 1988.
He has served as Coach and Assistant Director of Skating Schools
for the Hyatt Regency Hotels in Dubai and also worked for Warner
Brothers. He is currently
doing production accounting for the television industry.
Ted Wilson
– is Ice Arena Director for China Resources Sun Hung Kai (Hangzhou) Ltd.
He is the founder and Past President of the Ice Skating Institute
of Asia, Ltd. He is also
the founder of Skate Asia, an annual international ISI competition.
In addition to skating professionally, Ted has helped set up more
than ten rinks around the world.
He also produced ice shows at the Galeria Ice Theatre in Dubai
from 1980 to 1987.
Kati Winkler &
Rene Lohse
– are seven-time German Ice Dance Champions.
They are the 2004 World Bronze Medalists and had top-ten finishes
in both the 1998 and 2002 Olympics.
They continue to skate professionally and to do choreography for
other skaters.
Withrow Family
– Buck Withrow is a past Sectional Medalist and member of the U.S.
Junior Ice Dance team. He
is a past member of Act I of Boston Theatre on Ice and is currently
skating with Holiday on Ice.
Andy Withrow is a past Junior National Juvenile Dance competitor
and a past member of Act I of Boston Theatre on Ice.
Bob Withrow is a Technical Panel National Data and Video
Specialist and a member of Imagica Theatre on Ice.
Susan Withrow is a volunteer mom with Skating Club of Boston.
Kelly Witt
– is
a U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalist in Dance, Free Dance and Moves.
He is a U.S. medalist and has been a U.S. International Team
Member. Kelly has coached
for the past 26 years.
Charlene Wong
– is the 1983, 1988, 1989 and 1990 Canadian Silver Medalist.
She competed in the 1988 Olympics and is currently coaching in
California.
Sue Marie Woods
– began skating at the age of 23 and skates 4 days a week in Las Vegas,
Nevada. In addition to her
love of skating, she makes award-winning realistic collectible dolls
known as “reborns”. She
also enjoys sewing and historical costuming.
BL & Bob Wylie
– are the parents of 1992 Olympic Silver Medalist Paul Wylie.
BL is also a coach and is Vice Chair for the U.S. Figure Skating
Basic Skills program. They
live in Texas.
Igor Yaroshenko
– is a Ukrainian ice dancer with his wife, Irina Romanova.
They are the 1996 European Bronze Medalists.
They competed in the 1994 and 1998 Olympics and were Goodwill
Games Champions. Igor holds
a B.S. degree in Sports and is a national, international and junior
world level coach in Delaware.
Nicholas Young
– is the 2000 Canadian Junior Champion.
He has finished in the top ten at the Junior World Championships
twice and has placed in the top ten in the senior level at the Canadian
Championships.
Elaine Zayak
– is the 1981 U.S. Champion and the 1982 World Champion.
She was a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic Team and is the 1984
World Bronze Medalist. She
won the 1982 Dial Award for National High School Scholar Athlete. Elaine
toured professionally and, in 1993, reinstated to eligible status.
She was an alternate to the 1984 Olympic Team.
Elaine was inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in
2004 and is now coaching.
Karel Zelenka
–
was born in Czechoslovakia.
He is a five-time Italian Men’s Champion, from 2004 – 2006 and again in
2009. Karel also competed
in the 2006 Olympics.
